Independence Day 2025: A Proud Celebration

Every year, Independence Day brings with it a renewed sense of pride and patriotism, and this year at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam University, the spirit of freedom was celebrated with great enthusiasm and unity. The entire campus was adorned with the colors of the tricolor, symbolizing the values of courage, peace, and prosperity that define our nation.

The celebration began with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem sung in unison by students, faculty, and staff. The moment filled the atmosphere with pride and reminded everyone of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters who gifted us the India we live in today.

In his address, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of youth in shaping the future of the nation. He urged students to imbibe values of integrity, innovation, and service to society — principles that Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam himself cherished and lived by.

The event was further enriched with cultural performances by students, including patriotic songs, traditional dances, and a short play depicting India’s struggle for independence. A heartfelt tribute was paid to Dr. Kalam, recalling his dream of a self-reliant and developed India powered by education and science.

Adding to the vibrancy of the day, various competitions such as patriotic speech, painting, and quiz contests were organized. Students showcased their creativity and knowledge, and winners were felicitated with certificates and prizes.

The celebration concluded with the distribution of sweets, creating an atmosphere of togetherness and joy. It was not just a commemoration of history but also a reminder of the responsibility each student carries — to contribute towards a stronger and progressive India.
