University Examination Policy

1. Purpose

This policy sets out the rules and procedures for conducting examinations to ensure fairness, academic integrity, and consistency across all departments and programs.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in credit-bearing courses at the university.

3. Types of Exams

  • Midterm Examinations: Conducted halfway through the semester.
  • Final Examinations: Conducted at the end of the academic term.
  • Online Exams: Administered remotely with proctoring or monitoring tools.

4. Exam Scheduling

  • Exam timetables will be published at least 4 weeks before the exam period.
  • No exams may be scheduled during regular class hours unless explicitly approved.
  • Conflicts or overlaps must be reported to the Registrar's Office within 5 working days of the schedule release.

5. Student Responsibilities

  • Present valid student ID to enter the exam room.
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
  • Bring only permitted materials (e.g., calculators, pens, ID).
  • Comply with all academic integrity policies.
  • Notify instructors in advance in case of illness or emergency (with documentation).

6. Academic Integrity

  • Cheating, plagiarism, and other forms of misconduct during exams will result in disciplinary action, up to and including suspension or expulsion.
  • Use of unauthorized materials or communication tools (e.g., mobile phones, smartwatches) is strictly prohibited.

7. Special Accommodations

Students requiring special arrangements (e.g., due to disability) must contact the Student Support Office at least 2 weeks prior to exams.

8. Exam Environment

  • Silence must be maintained during the exam.
  • Personal belongings (bags, phones, notes) must be placed in designated areas.
  • Students must follow the instructions of invigilators at all times.

9. Grading and Feedback

Final exam grades will be posted within 25 working days after the exam.
